India's got latent show news

A day after social media influencers Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija appeared before the National Commission for Women (NCW) regarding their involvement in the controversial "watch parents have sex" remark on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent, the panel’s chief shared details of their discussion. Both influencers expressed regret over the incident, and the commission confirmed that they would be summoned again.

NCW chairperson Vijaya Kishore Rahatkar revealed that Allahbadia and Mukhija had submitted a written apology to the panel. She stated, "Ranveer told us that while he cannot undo what happened, he will be more mindful moving forward."

Rahatkar condemned the language used in the show, emphasizing that such remarks were unacceptable. "We strongly disapprove of these kinds of statements, and given their social impact, we took suo motu cognizance of the matter," she said.

She also warned the individuals involved, stating, "We have made it clear that we have grounds to take action against them."

Ranveer & Apoorva Appear Before NCW

On Thursday, social media influencers Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija appeared before the NCW. The show’s producers, Saurabh Bothra and Tushar Poojari, along with lawyers representing comedian Jaspreet Singh and YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, were also present.

Each person was questioned individually by the Commission. According to sources, Allahbadia and Mukhija were interrogated for hours and expressed remorse over the controversy.

The Commission had taken a firm stance on the inappropriate and offensive remarks made by Allahbadia, Mukhija, Raina, Jaspreet Singh, and Ashish Chanchlani. As a result, it summoned them along with the show’s producers, Poojari and Bothra.

Meanwhile, multiple FIRs were registered against Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, for his remarks on the show. However, the Supreme Court has granted him interim protection from arrest, though it criticized his comments as "vulgar" and accused him of having a "dirty mind that brings shame to society."
